In accordance with Association Rule 30.8, the Board of Professional Affairs (BPA), in collaboration with the Committee on Professional Practice and Standards (COPPS) and the Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessment (CPTA), seeks public and member comments on proposed Guidelines for Psychological Assessment and Evaluation. The purpose of these guidelines is to assist and inform psychologists of best practice when psychological instruments, including psychometric tests and collateral information, are utilized within the practice of psychological assessment and/or evaluation. APA has developed guidelines on a range of topics. It is believed that this set of guidelines, pending final approval, will be an important addition to APA’s guidelines portfolio.
